Brass ARMILLARY SUNDIAL. ARMILLA meaning rings in greek, the Armillary Sphere or Sundial. The outer flat circular ring is embossed with the Zodiac and a thumbscrew sets it to your latitude. When the arrow points to the northpole the gnomons shadow falls on the time indicated on the equator band. This beautiful piece is handcrafted in solid brass with a heavy cast base. It is 7" tall a 5" arrow and a 4" diameter ring. A magnificent decoration for your desk or that special corner, it is not intended for measurement or scientific use. |
